Teletalk Launches Pilot Online SIM Service in Select Districts
Teletalk Bangladesh Limited, the country’s only state-owned mobile operator, has introduced an online SIM service on a trial basis. Customers in select districts can now purchase their preferred Teletalk SIM for BDT 250 from designated post offices or for BDT 300 from the comfort of their homes using mobile wallet payments. Upon purchase, customers will receive an automated tracking number to monitor the delivery status of their SIM card. Orders can be placed via the “Online SIM” menu on Teletalk’s website.
The pilot phase of this service began on November 27 in 11 post offices across Rajshahi, Naogaon, and Chapainawabganj districts in the Rajshahi division. Teletalk has announced plans to gradually extend the service to post offices nationwide.
The service was officially inaugurated on Wednesday at Teletalk's headquarters on Hare Road, Dhaka, by Adviser to the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Mohammad Nahid Islam. The event was attended by Secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Division Dr. Mohammad Mushfiqur Rahman, Teletalk Managing Director Nurul Mabud Chowdhury, and Director General of Bangladesh Post Office S.M. Shahab Uddin, along with other senior officials from Teletalk and the postal service.
This initiative integrates Teletalk’s SIM services with the distribution network of the Bangladesh Post Office, enabling customers to select and order SIMs online for delivery either at a nearby post office or directly to their homes.
